Overeating can lead to excess weight, health problems, and overall poor health. However, there are effective strategies that will help you avoid overeating and maintain a healthy balance in your diet. Let's look at some of them.

1. Eat when you are hungry.

Often we eat out of habit or for company. Stress or an excess of emotions often prompts us to eat. All this prevents us from consuming food when the body is really hungry. When we eat not because of hunger – we overeat, which will inevitably lead to weight gain. It is important to keep track of when you are really hungry and when you are not.

2. Choose healthy products.

Prefer foods that are rich in nutrients, such as vegetables, fruits, berries, whole grains and protein sources, chicken, fish and tofu. These products saturate the body, providing it with the necessary nutrients and help to avoid the feeling of hunger. Minimize the "junk food" that doesn't fill you up and is harmful.

3. Chew your food thoroughly.

Chew your food carefully and slowly, this will help your brain recognize satiety signals in time. Don't get distracted by gadgets. This will promote better digestion and assimilation of nutrients and prevent you from overeating.

3. Practice mindful eating.

It is extremely important to learn to listen to your body's signals and stop when you feel full. Conscious nutrition helps to avoid overeating and excess calorie consumption.

5. Avoid stress.

Stress can lead to emotional overeating. Consider relaxation techniques such as yoga, meditation, or going outside to reduce stress levels and avoid overeating as a way to calm down. Learn to recognize your emotional triggers and find alternative ways to manage them that aren't related to food consumption. If the problem is constant, you should find effective tools to help you avoid compulsive emotional eating.

6. Pay attention to portions.

Don't forget to consider portion sizes. Use smaller plates and bowls, this will help reduce the amount of food you consume at one time. Place all the food you plan to eat at once on your plate. Do not run several times to the refrigerator, because this can lead to overeating.

7. Drink fluids.

Before starting to eat, try to drink a glass of water 15-20 minutes. This can help satisfy hunger and fill your stomach, which will help you eat less at mealtimes. Besides, sometimes we just want water, but we think we are hungry.

8. Snacks.

If you feel hungry between main meals, choose a healthy, balanced snack that contains fiber, fat and carbohydrates.

9. Do not forget about physical activity.

Treat sports not as hard labor, but as recreation and a way to show self-love. Choose the types of activity that bring you pleasure: walking, stretching, running, anything that brings you pleasure.

And most importantly – take care of your body out of love, without violence or prohibitions. You should not focus on food, divide it into "good" and "bad" and "kill" training yourself. Love yourself and your body, and it will definitely thank you in return 🤗
